In the world of Feng Shui, your personal trigram, or Ming Gua, is an integral part of understanding how you interact with the energy of your surroundings. Your trigram is a unique number derived from your birth year, which allows you to determine the elements, colors, and directions that can boost positive energy in your life. Let's dive into how to calculate your personal trigram!
Step One: Understand the Calendar
Before we start the calculations, realize that you might need to tweak your birth year if you were born between January 1st and February 4th or 5th. For these dates, we use the previous year's number due to the Chinese calendar's influence on Feng Shui.
Step Two: Calculate Your Trigram Number
Add all digits of your birth year continuously until you end up with a single digit number. For instance, if your birth year is 1978, you would add 1 + 9 + 7 + 8, which totals 25. But, we need a single digit, so continue the process: 2 + 5 = 7.
The process differs slightly between males and females from here.
Male Trigram Calculation
For males, subtract the single digit obtained from step two from 11. This number is your personal trigram number. However, if the result is 5, consider it as 2 since there isn't a 5 trigram.
For example, if you're a male born in 1978, and your single digit number is 7, subtract this from 11. So, 11 - 7 = 4. Your trigram number is 4.
Female Trigram Calculation
For females, you add 4 to the single digit obtained from step two. This number becomes your personal trigram number. However, if the result is 5, take it as 8 since a 5 trigram doesn't exist.
For example, if you're a female born in 1978, and your single digit number is 7, add 4 to this. So, 7 + 4 = 11. Then, reduce to a single digit: 1+1=2. Your trigram number is 2.
What Now?
Once you know your personal trigram number, you can use it to explore the best support directions, elements, and colors for you, enhancing your life's prosperity, health, and harmony.
Just remember not to confuse your personal trigram number with the meanings of the numbers in the 8-Trigram Grid. They're different elements of Feng Shui, each with its unique implications and use.
You can find your own trigram.
Then in blocked areas add these sections (1, 2,3,4,6,7,8,9) maybe with colors within the color scheme that are corelated to the elements - water - blue, fire - a muted red or mauve, metal - gray, wood- green, earth - brown
